The Lakes of Mount Dora

The Lakes of Mount Dora is an unique active 55+ community created to address a high demand specific need. Many people wish to retire and live a lakefront lifestyle. Unfortunately, the high cost of lakefront property excludes many potential buyers. The Lakes of Mount Dora is a large community located on Highway 44 east of Eustis and north of downtown Mount Dora. Before the community was developed, this parcel contained a small spring-fed lake. The developer expanded the lake to include a number of wide manmade canals. New homes were built along these canals, which provided most residents with a waterfront lot. The canals are wide and the water levels and quality are maintained by the community. The community has room for approximately 950 homes with nearly 70% either on the water or with a water view. Waterfront homes range from 1,600 to 3,000 sq. ft. starting in $200s. The community has a huge 18,000 sq. ft. clubhouse with an outdoor resort style pool including a state-of-the-art fitness center, hobby rooms, grand ballroom and a library.
