I have
always loved early Mustang fastbacks and never thought I would own one due
to the rising prices. The car you see here found me. While
driving through a housing development to pick up a friend for a fishing
trip I noticed an old Mustang under a tarp in the car port of one of the
houses. The car turned out to be a '65 Fastback that had been
sitting under that tarp since 1988. I found the owner and as luck
would have it the guy had just gotten married and could use
the money. I bought the car on the spot and had it towed home. |

This car got waves and honks wherever it went. One of our favorite pastimes was to visit a local restaurant that is on a major street through our town. We would park the car in the lot directly across the street from the restaurant and watch people do a double-take when they go by. Scores of people stopped just to check out this car. I would like to thank the following people. Without their help, I never would have been able to own this great car: The Vintage Mustang Forum for answering all my stupid questions. The Nevada Shelby American Auto Club for all their research and pictures of real Shelbys. Sean Bryant at Central Florida Customs for his outstanding welding and paint work. Ray's Auto Machine in Eustis, Florida for the machine work and moral support. Bob Fechtenburg for letting me know that I am not the only crazy Mustang person.
My wife Judy for putting up
with the an old greaser for all these years! |
