1965 Mustang Fastback Project

Return

January 12, 2005   The beginning.......

As you can see, the car is all there but in pretty sad shape.  It's a standard 1965 A Code Fastback with a V-8 and a C-4 Transmission.  It lost it's original 289 somewhere along the way and now has a 1969 302 2V.  Just as well as I am going to turn it into a 60s Hot Rod and if it was all original I would have had to deal with a lot of guilt.

Build code says this car was a Rangoon Red fastback with an A code 289 and a C-4.  Someone painted it black and swapped out the 4 barrel motor with a 1969 2 barrel.  Passenger door is caved in and rust is apparent in quarters and real bad in tail light panel.  Dirt everywhere!

Here's the little jewel! 302 cubic inches of dirt and abuse. Nice patina on the air cleaner. Looks like I'm going to get real dirty on this one!

On yeah, did I mention it has an interior? Smells a little funky, but it's all there.  Rear panels and fold-down back seat are good.
