428 Cobra Jet Heads |

Installed the CJ heads on the 390 short block today. Heads are stock 428 Cobra Jet except for hardened valve seats, Crane springs and retainers and performance valve job. |

You can always tell 428 CJ heads from the outside by the smog holes just above each exhaust port. These holes had smog tubes screwed into them from the factory making for interesting spark plug changes. The holes in these heads have been plugged for a very long time. |

Here's where all the power is made in these heads. Intake ports are humongous for stock heads. Can't wait to find a 1957 Chevy just waiting for a whipping! |

The exhaust ports are also good sized. Should be a breather with the solid lifter 427 cam opening and closing those big valves. |
